To Faithfully Ensure The Implementation Of The Mandate Of The Office Of The Secretary To The Government Of Niger State To Engender Positive Transformation Of Niger State, In Line With The Station Vision To Become One Of The Top Three State Economies In Nigeria By The Year 2020.
Goal
Creating An Enabling Environment For Synergy And Team Work Among Ministries, Departments, Agencies As Well As Stakeholders In The State, In A Manner Way That Will Ensure Formulation Of Sound Economic, Political And Social Policies For The Development Of Niger State.

Policy Intervention Strategies
As A Matter Of Policy, The Office Of The Secretary To The Government Of Niger State Shall Constructively And Productively Intervene In Addressing Identified Socio-Economic Inequalities In The State. Specifically, The Office Shall Facilitate The Formulation Of Policies And Programmes By Way Of Ensuring Sustainable Democratic System And People-Centered Projects In Which Transparency And Accountability In Governance, And The Rule Of Law, Is Strictly Adhered To. In This Regard, The Office Shall Make Conscious Efforts And Adopt Strategies Aimed At Ensuring That All Policies Agreed Upon Are Faithfully Implemented As Enshrined In The State Annual Budgets. To This End, The Office Shall Devise Methods By Creating Outfits Which Will Constantly And Effectively Monitor The Implementation Of People-Oriented Programmes By Mdas.
Functions Of The Office Of The Secretary To The Government Of Niger State
The Office Of The Secretary To The Government Of Niger State Is The Engine Room That Coordinates The Activities Of All Mda’s As Regards The Implementation Of Government Policies And Programmes.
Accordingly, The Functions Of The Office Shall Include The Following:
    • Handing Matters In Respect Of Governors Forums (Nigerian/Northern), Governors Forum And Arewa Consultative Forum, Nndc, Unity Bank Plc, External Donor Organizations Etc;
    • Coordinating The Activities Of Ministries/Departments/Agencies (Mdas) On The Implementation Of Government Policies And Programmes;
    • Dealing With Constitutional, Political And Economic Matters As They Affect Niger State;
    • Providing General Direction To The Setting Up Of Tribunal/Commissions/ Committees;
    • Processing Of Appointment Of Governing Board Of State Parastatal Organizations;
    • Processing Of Matters Relating To Prerogative Of Mercy/Honors Award/Merit Awards;
    • Providing Secretariat Service To The State Security Committee;
    • Dealing With Petitions And Appeals;
    • Liaising With Secretary To The Government Of The Federal And Other Secretariat To The State Government;
    • Providing Office And Residential Accommodation For Political Office Holders;
    • Monitoring The Conduct And Performance Of Political Appointees (Commissioners, Advisers, Special Assistants Etc);
    • Effective Liaison With Other Principal Functionaries (Hos And Cos) Of The Executive Governor On State Matters; And
    • Performing Other Duties To Be Assigned By The Chief Servant And The Deputy Chief Servant From Time To Time.
